I guess it depends on if you're looking for a community of fellow authors, markets or just a friendly, understanding shoulder to cry on. I'm pretty mercenary, myself, looking for sites that might somehow lead to contact with an agent, a publisher I was previously unaware of, etc. My blog features practical advice and anecdotes from "the writing life" culled from over 20 years of professional scribbling. Most of what I have to say is pretty depressing so if you've got a weak disposition better give it a miss. Otherwise (of course) you're welcome to pop by... It’s a good point.
